Message to all togolese and friends of Togo in the USA

MESSAGE TO ALL TOGOLESE AND FRIENDS OF TOGO LIVING IN THE USA

Dear brothers and sisters,

Following the sudden death of Eyadema, his son, Mr. Faure, was put in power by some minority generals in the Togolese army.

Since then, the whole world (especially ECOWAS, AFRICAN UNION, EUROPEAN UNION, USA, etc.) is manifesting its anger. Togolese across the globe are demonstrating or preparing to demonstrate.

We, Togolese, in the USA, should not sit back and watch. Whether we have become
American or not, Togo is still our homeland and beloved country. Whether we come
from Togo or not we all feel the pain that the Togolese People are going through
since last week. It is Togo today, it can be another country tomorrow. It is
important to mobilize all our energy to say « NO » to the coup of some elements of the Togolese army.

Hence, Togolese Associations and political parties abroad are organizing a
demonstration in New York with a special message to Mr. Kofi Annan and France’s
Ambassador as well, to support our cause.
